Castro Describes Bush and Gore as "Boring and Insipid"

HAVANA Cuban President Fidel Castro Saturday criticized U.S. presidential candidates George W. Bush and Al Gore as "boring and insipid", saying both lacked "a historical perspective" and "solid principles".
Speaking in Pinar del Rio in western Cuba, Castro said Bush and Gore did not possess a "sensitivity" to social problems which he attributed to President Bill Clinton, nor did they possess his "sharp intellect and personal education". Castro reiterated Cuba's demand that all aspects of the U.S. embargo on Cuba be lifted, and called for the Cuba adjustment act which allows Cuban refugees to remain in the U.S. to be scrapped.
